The picture above is a painting of the rear view of the Ottawa Union Station circa 1920 which was built by the Grand Trunk Railway and opened in 1912.
The engine is Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 number 1201 which was built in the Montreal Angus shops in June 1944. In the background at the left is part of the Parliament Buildings and on the right, the Chateau Laurier Hotel which is across the street from the station. The picture itself is an oil paining which was found at an auction by one of our club members .
